Love loves love
The hoof loves the ground
because it's there
always
and yet always
changes
at her touch.
They begin to look
like one another,
the hoof and the snow-covered ground.
Soon, anyone passing the mark
the hoof leaves in the snow says,
Look, a deer.

I am adding Sting's rendition of "My One and Only Love" today, Sunday, but still in time for Valentine's Day. The video includes artistic representations of Cupid (Eros) and Psyche through history. Lovely!
